"Little Women" at Broadway On The Side is astonishing!

In this heartfelt adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, the story of “Little Women” follows the lives of the March sisters as they navigate love, loss, and follows the sisters along on their pursuit of their dreams. Along with it already being a beautiful and classic story, Broadway On The Side’s production of “Little Women” was top- notch and did a great job capturing the essence of each character which really brought the story to life on stage. From the beautiful melodies to the powerful emotions portrayed throughout the show, this production is a must- see. Nothing can stand in the way of the cast of "Xanadu" at Farmington City!

Going into this magic, fantasy, jukebox musical, you never quite know what to expect. With the chaos of this bizarre writing of the musical, it could go very poorly and may not be perceived well by the audience. However, with a cast of committed actors, Farmington City has done a spectacular job at creating a thoroughly entertaining evening for audiences! The outlandishly yet enjoyable stage spoof of an outrageously bad movie is SURE to entertain. Under the direction of Dena Brady, this cast has taken, what is a bizarre and totally random musical, and turned it into a true work of art.

When it comes to bringing this action/adventure musical truly and perfectly to life, the Ziegfeld Theater has done just that! All you need is love... AND tickets to see "Love, Love, Love" at Broadway on the Side!

Broadway on the Side does it again with another spectacular show! With a cabaret based all around love, including the different aspects of it, this was bound to be a wonderful show and definitely met and even exceeded my expectations. Song selections ranged from popular musicals and pop songs to more rare or not so popular musicals giving the show a nice flow and kept audience members excited for each song. Something that I enjoyed about this particular cabaret was the narration from cast members between songs. It added a nice little touch and gave the cast a little more to do throughout the duration of the show.

Broadway On the Side's "Heroes and Villains" exceeds all expectations!

As stated in the director's (Megan Worthen Nelson) note in the Playbill, a part of Broadway on the Side's goal is "to make the arts accessible to everyone through quality performances", and I can confidently say they have done just that! With a wonderful goal set in place for this performing group, they excelled so perfectly together, and triumphantly lead the audience through an amazing cabaret style performance. When attending a show put on by a theater that I'm not familiar with, I really look forward to seeing how the tone and vibe are set throughout, and the moment I walked into the building, I knew this was going to be a special place. Not only did I feel very comfortable as an audience member, but I also could tell how comfortable the performers were as well, and that's a very special thing.

Full Disclosure: The Addams Family at Terrace is hauntingly amazing!

With so many community theaters doing "The Addams Family" musical, it can be hard to want to continuously go out and see this show. This is one of those musicals that makes a grand reappearance every few years, and I find that most live theaters are quick to grab hold of this spooky, comedic musical all at the same time. With all that being said, I can confidently say that if there is one production of "The Addams Family" that you should see, it is the one at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse (Ogden), directed by Carol Madsen.

"Singin' in the Rain" at Heritage is a show you can't miss!

With a popular and classic musical such as “Singin’ in the Rain”, I find that audience members tend to have more of a high expectation. Especially in a smaller venue, you can’t help but wonder how the set, costumes, light/sound design, and most importantly, the rain will all tie together to make a production of this show work out. Heritage Theatre in Perry, Utah has done a spectacular job of meeting and even exceeding these expectations. From the moment the lights first came up in the first scene, the set, light design, costumes, and of course actors did not disappoint!
